Bird on a Wire is a 1990 feature film starring Goldie Hawn and Mel Gibson. The film was directed by John Badham, and shot mainly in British Columbia, Canada. [1]
Successful lawyer "Marianne Graves" (Goldie Hawn) runs into old boyfriend "Rick Jarmin" (Mel Gibson) while he's working at an auto shop. He denies, but eventually confirms, that he is really Rick, Marianne's lover that disappeared fifteen years ago. As it turns out, Rick is a protected witness in the Witness Protection Program who comes under fire when the criminal he testified against is released on parole. When Marianne learns what really happened and that Rick did not jilt her on purpose, she joins him on a cross-country trek while dodging the police and the criminals after Rick.
During one of the scenes the audience sees Mel Gibsons character's feet being hit by a bus. This was originally a mistake that happened to the stunt double, but was left in the final film.[citation needed]
