Ben Dixon was the selected by the Hawthorn Football Club at no. 77 as a 5th round selection in the 1994 National Draft. He has proven his worth by providing the team with a reliable and consistent leading forward option who has the ability to step up. He is praised for his solid work ethic and his experience.
In 2006 he celebrated his most successful season when he kicked the second most goals for the Hawks with 39, including a bag of 5 against Collingwood Magpies in round 2.
His father Joe Dixon played a handful of games with the Fitzroy Football Club in the 1940s.
He has since retired from the game.
