Ben Davis (journalist)

Ben Davis (born 1974) is a sports presenter on the Seven Network in Brisbane. Currently, he presents the sport report on the 6:00pm news, on Thursday and Friday nights.

He started his career at the Ten Network as a part-time cadet whilst he completed a degree in Communications (Journalism) at the University of Technology, Queensland. In 1995 at the age of 21, he finished his studies and an opportunity came up with Seven News in Brisbane.

In 1997 and 1999, he won "Best Television Report" in the National Soccer League's national Media Awards for reports that he did on the Brisbane Strikers.

On September 9, 2007 whilst doing a live cross from Melbourne during sport for the Brisbane edition of Seven News he was tackled and subsequently bashed by two men. He received minor injuries from the assault and police are investigating the crime. [1]

On two occasions this year, Davis has also substituted as sports presenter on Weekend Sunrise, which is broadcast from Sydney.
